Edwardian Shirtwaist in Blue Print

I finished my Edwardian style shirtwaist last night. I have made this pattern before and it fits wonderfully. The pattern is from Folkwear. The Gibson Girl blouse.
I used the double needle on the yoke and three lines up the middle of the sleeve to give it some detail.

I made this one after watching the series 1900 House ( England see below) on Edwardian life. It is Romantic looking yet very practical for everyday life. I wear these shirtwaists with 7/8 length skirts and am often told how elegant I look.

The ties that you see on the front actually come from the back and tie in the front. It gets hidden under the skirt but gives that full look in the front and tailored look in the back.

Little Blue Print

Bought this "little blue print" fabric yesterday. It is 100% cotton and a lovely weight that will last many years. Off to make  a blouse out of it.

Pansy Quilt

I put this together about 12 years ago, and had real problems quilting it so I tucked it away in the basement. Pulled it out last night and am airing it. I am so totally surprised on how much I already quilted on it. It is a queen size quilt and terribly hard to handle under the machine but I am determined to finish it before the garden season begins.

Thrift Shop Finds

A bi-lamp with light bulb! for $7.99
Two Batten-burg Laced pillows with forms for $3.99 each. The forms alone would cost me $6.99 at the fabric store!
A pair of pillowcases for $1.99pr.

I go into this store so many times and find nothing. Today I could have spent $100.00 for all the great finds but I held back and bought only some items for this room.

Initial Neck Roll Pillow

I had small amounts of fabric left over from the bedroom print. Hand embroidered the Initial and sewed up a pillow using the scraps.

The "R" is the Initial of my eldest granddaughter.

My Studio

Studio, sewingroom all the same to me. The room where I do a lot more then iron the weekly laundry.
Its were my creative juices flow. Where my thoughts and ideas stem from.
Its also where my granddaughters sleep when they have a sleepover.
Where I display my little things of Love and nature.
Where I show off my Love of smocking.
My creations of years gone by.
