Creme and Roses

I smocked this dress, and stashed it away somehow thinking the colours were all wrong for this four year old. I came across it when cleaning out the studio and thought I best to sew it up and sell it. BUt low and behold, it turned out to be the perfect size and colouring for this little one. She called it her "Princess dress"

I took the colours from the roses and used them to smock the front and back of this dress.

Blue on Blue

Thinking Dutch here when I smocked this size four dress with long sleeves.

Smocked in dark blue and white.

Girls Blue Dress

A fun dress, smocked to make it pretty.

Little girl size six dress. Pattern is Sweet Pea from A Garden of Smocking.
Fabric is a medium slate blue with small white dots in groups of three. The fabric was of good quality but very inexpensive.

Smocking in plain design of 14 rows in navy blues and dusty roses.
I put ties in the back of this full bodice dress to make it more tight around the top.

Bonnets for Older Children

Just to show you bonnets are not just for babies. Here is a 3 year old wearing a bonnet I made her. She is a strawberry blonde and needs to keep her head covered as well as her eyes shielded from heat stroke. We are by the Great Lakes here in May and its cool. Cool enought to wear a bonnet.

I am working at smocking bonnets for toddlers right now.

I hope to have the lineup on-line by mid-March.

this bonnet because of the weight of the fabric does not close as tight in the back but will also be worn well past the 8 month range, probably up past the 1 year mark.

Baby Dress on "Old Lady Fabric"

This piece of fabric was chalked full of roses, in muted lilac colours. What I would consider something "old ladies wear". It was s ent to me from a very dear friend in England but only enough for a baby size dress.
I smocked it in just design, no rosettes,in the colours I found in the dress. Needless to say the dress turned out perfect and very striking.
